Golden Globes vs. Stable Genius

Golden Globes vs. Stable Genius

What a glamorous night! The 75th annual Golden Globes featuring a ground-moving, earth-shattering¬† speech from Her Majesty Oprah Winfrey, recipient of this year’s Cecil B. Demille award. I’m sure many were thinking: why can’t she be President? Ah, you naive neophytes of the political rodeo: it is precisely because she is GOOD (in a Christian morals sense) that she cannot survive the pit of Satanic Vipers that IS U.S. Politics. She may well claim (like Trump) to be a “Stable Genius”, and have much better evidence to back up that claim. But The United States of 2018 is not a rational place, it is the cauldron of witchy-thinking (a process¬† depicted in Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland’s new novel “…D.O.D.O” –¬† where frequent visitations to a long-dead past in which repetitions of THE SAME ACTIONS – much like intoning the magical mantra “No Collusion” – can succeed in asserting a reality that never was to begin with). I have a feeling that I should start terminating these posts with the exclamation so frequently used by my wise-behind-her-ears niece: “Huzzah!”
